‘Anything to do with horses’ – Phillips couple involved in many disciplines
PHILLIPS — One of the many horse events Janelle Stelk competes in is the trail challenge, which is a type of obstacle course. In the trail challenge, the horse and rider have to maneuver around unexpected objects.
The trail challenge is a good way “to see how much trust your horse has in you and see what kind of team you are,” Janelle Stelk says.
Janelle and her husband, Dennis, love anything to do with horses. The Stelks, who live near Phillips, own 10 horses. They own Hilltop Mini Ranch on Highway 34 about five miles east of Grand Island’s south Walmart.
